The RE/MAX Concept or How 100% Commissions Work

The name RE/MAX was chosen not only because associates typically keep more of what they earn, but also to signify that associates can take their career to the maximum using all the tools of the trade, plus those that RE/MAX provides, PLUS the synergy of working with so many top producers!

The theory is very simple:

Each month, each RE/MAX associate shares in the overhead of the real estate office.

When a sale is closed, the RE/MAX associate keeps 100% of the commissions earned.

Are there deductions?  Yes, depending upon which program you have selected.  Some agents actually keep 100% of the commission.

Others keep 70%, and the office retains 30%.  These associates have selected to participate in the "Enhanced Commission Split Program", whereby the office fees are not paid by the associate on a monthly basis, and the 30% the office retains is applied to the accrued office fees until paid in full.  At that time, the associate retains 100% of the commissions earned.  In other words, the associate fees payable to the office are capped.  The associate will never be penalized for being a big producer.

You should plan on allocating approximately $12,000 to fees payable to RE/MAX for all your expenses.  Everything you earn above that is yours.

For example, One (1) Million in sales generates approximately $30,000 in commission.  You keep $19,000.  Two (2) Million is sales generates approximately $60,000 in commissions.  You keep $49,000.
